 September 14, 2006 - My 18th Birthday It was the picture when I was still in Mangagoy. That was my first time to have a cake like that in my life and I think it will be the last. xD In the same day, my bestfriend Gaya is celebrating also her 17th birthday When I was blog-walking, I found a site that helps me find an answer to what I will give to my bestfriend. Do you own a bar? I think you must have a comfortable bar stools for your guests so that they will come back again. I’ve seen in frontgate.com, stools for your bar. I have created a page in Facebook about my campaign “A Cent for Kassandra’s Hearing Aid“. We, my family needs support from people who are willing to help us buy my daughter’s hearing aid. Kassandra Ghiege Arreza-Ocanada is 1 year and 2 months. She has a little sister Kate Ashley. Kate is 3 months old this coming Feb. 16. I’m afraid Kate can talk first than her older sister because Kassandra is diagnosed to have a congenital hearing loss. The ear specialist referred us to Manila Hearing Aid in Cebu branch, SM SuperMarket for a pair of hearing aid with a cost of P53,000.00 each which is really a shocking price. I don’t know where to get the amount since I am just a freelancer and still searching for a job online. My husband is only a laborer who has a wage of P231.00 a day which is just enough to pay bills and our needs everyday. Everyday I pray to God that there are people who are willing to help Kassandra buy her hearing aid so that she will learn how to talk and soon understand what we are saying and not affect her self-esteem. As a mother, I am really worried about her condition. It hurts when I see her smile, laugh even though she doesn’t even understand what we say. She’s a happy child, a sweet little angel and a cute kid. I love her so much and I’ll do anything, even BEG for help, just to give her the hearing aid she needed. I once posted on MyLot site. A person commented on my post, he said that it is not permitted to post charity or asking for donations in MyLot and he added, actually I forgot the lines but it is something like, it is not the only distress people have to mind or something like that. I don’t think I don’t deserve a comment like that. I accepted that I was wrong for posting it. I was just desperate for finding help Everyday I pray to God hoping for Kassandra’s deafness to be healed. I hope that God will answer my prayers and to those who pray for Kassandra’s sake. We have the same birthday but different year. I was thinking what to give for her.
but about taking my child for granted, it’s not in my vocabulary. I would do everything just for my Kassandra’s hearing aid. I will double time blogging, I will finish tasks, I will try to find a job even though it is hard for me to pass because I am just a high school undergrad. I will try every possible thing to earn money for her hearing aid. I just hope God will be with me in all the challenges that I am taking.
